Prochain concert
Concert pour les 35 ans des PCh de St-André de Colmar - Colmar - sam. 21 mai 2022 - 20h30
English summary
The Mulhouse Boys’ Choir was founded in 1948. We have been directed by Jean-Michel Schmitt since 1981. We are usually accompanied on piano by Benoît Ruthmann.
We are a choir of about 31 boys aged between 8 and 18, joined by 8 adults. The trebles and altos rehearse by section, twice a week, after school. The tenors and basses rehearse once a week. The choir comes together to practise as a whole in the final stages of preparation for each concert.
The traditional motto of the Petits Chanteurs is “chanter en voyageant et voyager en chantant”. This means “singing as we travel and travelling as we sing”. For over 60 years, the Petits Chanteurs of the Mulhouse Boys’ Choir have enchanted audiences not only at home in Alsace, but all over France. The choir has also sung in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Norway, Hungary and Canada.
Each summer, they go on tour in a different region, country, continent.
In 2016, they will go on tour to Austria (Linz), Hungary (Budapest and Eger), Slovakia (Bratislava) and Germany (Passau).
